Las Vegas hotels increase security in wake of attack

In the wake of the horrific shooting that occurred in Las Vegas on Oct. 1, hotels and casinos in the city have looked to maintain the highest degree of normalcy possible while simultaneously ramping up security to new heights.

The New York Daily News reports the Wynn Resort has already begun scanning visitors with metal detector wands and inspecting bags — similar to protocols used in airports across the country. This security protocol is expected to extend to the rest of the Strip in the foreseeable future.

It is also likely live events in the near future will feature advanced metal detectors, as well as sniper lookout teams to ensure the safety of attendees at outdoor music festivals.
