DA’s Sunday Morning Medicine: Downtempo Edition
While there aren't any strict definitions as to what constitutes downtempo, it's generally known as slower, ambient-driven electronic music. This week features two impeccable originals from Andrew Bayer, a rework of "Move For Me," X3SR's remix of "Breathe," and an original from Kastle.
Kastle releases debut album with 15 relishable 2-step and garage tracks
Though Barrett Richards has been releasing forward-thinking music under the moniker of Kastle for over three years now, yesterday marked the release of his self-titled debut album Kastle: a 15-track odyssey of warping, vocal-driven bass music.
DA’s Sunday Morning Medicine
Now that the insanity of Miami Music Week and Ultra has finally come to close, it's time for some serious resting and recuperation. Kastle – Red Light feat. Ayah Marar (Original Mix)
"Red Light" is the first single off of Kastle's forthcoming album, and it's one of his best productions yet. Aided by the vocal assistance of London's Ayah Marar, "Red Light" is an engrossing house track swirling with delectable future garage vibes.
Kastle & Jason Burns – Somebody (Original Mix)
West Coast based bass music masterminds Kastle and Jason Burns have joined forces on the forthcoming Don't Believe EP. Our first taste of the collaboration comes with the dark and ominous "Somebody." Haunting percussive stabs and warped vocals float over top a subtle, yet driving bass line to create a garage-tinged and ambient soundscape. Set to be released on September 11th, the Don't Believe EP is shaping up to me a defining moment in both of their careers and a must grab for any fan of the deeper side of bass music.
