Laidback Luke presents the 2012 Mixmash yearmix
It's been a big year for dance music and an even bigger year for Laidback Luke'se Mixmash records, whose 2012 barrage of releases was nothing to squawk at. From Gregor Salto's "Azumba" to the Laidback Luke & Angger Dimas collab "Nights Like This," there was no shortage of bounce-friendly Dutch house being manufactured by the iconic imprint. In this hour long mix, the label head himself, Laidback Luke, takes you through the entire year of Mixmash releases. Still championing the adrenaline-laced production style that made him famous and fostering talents that share a similar love for electro stabs and concussive percussion, Laidback Luke has recruited an army of party-starting producers.
John Dahlback – Get Wild (Original Mix)
"Can't stop, won't stop" seems to be John Dahlback's motto these days. He's been pumping out new tunes like there's no tomorrow and his latest release -- "Get Wild" on Laidback Luke's Mixmash label -- is just as fulfilling as you'd expect a Dahlback track to be. "Get Wild" keeps the funky theme we recently got wind of in "Sing That." The newly released track builds up with promising leads, which soon give way to an electro-house bassline, perfect for a packed club, a buzzing festival field or even your drive home. "Get Wild" is available for purchase today.
Alvaro – Pay Attention To The Drums (Original Mix) [Preview]
Just last week a preview of Alvaro's upcoming track, "Make The Crowd Go," was released and now another Alvaro preview has made it onto the internet. "Pay Attention to the Drums" has a solid build and addictive, rhythmic drop full of drums.
Austin Leeds feat. Jason Caesar – Close Your Eyes (Laidback Luke Remix) [Preview]
After performing a blistering set at Electric Zoo that was reminiscent of the LBL of old, Luke returns with this fierce remix of Austin Leeds "Close Your Eyes." We aren't going to lie, Luke was in a slump for a bit, but after his performance at Electric Zoo 2012 and this upcoming big room, dutch banger all hope has been restored. Luke's signature sounds are alive and well here, finely crafted and produced to evoke a ton of energy. Driving percussion and electro grit blend perfectly with the occasional dutch chirp. This is bounce music at it's best. Watch for this one to be released on MixMash on September 17th.
