2011 Grammy’s: The Winner For Best Remixed Dance Recording Is…

Let me be honest with you. Usually I could care less about who wins a Grammy or who performs at the Grammy awards. However, in 2011 I finally watched a snippet of the entire ceremony. The only thing that interested me (and I bet you found interesting as well) was who would win the Grammy for ‘Best Remixed Dance Recording’. The nominated artists were Morgan Page, David Guetta & Afrojack, Axwell & Dirty South, Mike Rizzo, and Wolfgang Gartner. From my point of view I thought Axwell & Dirty South’s remix of ‘Sweet Disposition’ was going to run away with it by a mile and a half. The song was an absolute anthem, and I must have heard it in approximately 20 live sets. When the drop arrives it still gives me the chills. In an upset, the Grammy was awarded to David Guetta & Afrojack’s remix of Madonna’s ‘Revolver’. Ironically, Afrojack is not even credited on the official title for the remix. The award is a testament to how big David Guetta is in the EDM world and how much of an influence he has within it. Below, I have included the 5 nominated tracks that were up for the Grammy…who/which track do you think should have won?

  1. AFrojack tweeted: PS even though we won the statue @dirtysouth909 and @axwell remix of temper trap is one of the best remixes ive ever heared! …and he is absolutely right. testament to the wrath of Guetta!

  2. @david Guetta is a tool [ i think this year he will focus on producing the most commercial music EVER…EVER. maybe some hip hop too. Afrojack is really talented. However Axwell and Dirty South should HAVE WON.

  3. why is everyone acting like david guetta started djing a year ago n is only a main stream dj, where were u guys years ago when he was putting in work at clubs n festivals that no one knew about years ago ,,, its no joke to win a grammy or the even be nominated for one, the guy knows what hes doing if he won a grammy

  4. David Guetta is a overrated DJ which has 20 Producers sittin in France and producing his comming up singels … he’s getting 200,000 bugs for 2 hour djing in Dubai … the management got 50,000 of that … so what now … is this really a matter of fact to win a grammy … he’s a pop artist a europe dance act and the only single i prefer is love dont let me go … because these songs where his roots … and non the pop bullshit he’s producing now !!!

  5. We’re not acting like as if he started DJing a year ago..
See, the problem is that the old David Guetta (the one that deserves an award) didn’t win the grammy….. the new mainstream commercial David Guetta won the grammy for a track that is clearly inferior to the one that should have won (Sweet Disposition)…

  6. Aside from Guetta winning and all, I will have to disagree with this post. I was actually quite excited when Arcade Fire took home the grammy for Album of the Year. No others deserved it nearly as much.

  7. Wolfgang Gartners remix of Andy Caldwell’s Funk Nasty with Gram’ma Funk is a Big Room bounce!!! But I thought Sweet Disposition Dirty South and Axwell would take the Grammy!!! But we love Afrojack!!

  8. Wolfgang Gartners remix of Andy Caldwell’s Funk Nasty with Gram’ma Funk is a Big Room bounce!!! But I thought Sweet Disposition Dirty South and Axwell would take the Grammy!!! But we love Afrojack!!

  9. I listen to axwell’s mix of sweet disposition almost every day [not an exaggeration].
I was so excited when it was nominated and so disappointed when it was beaten out by that cunt Guetta.

  10. I personally think that David Guetta used to produce good stuff…however, lately he has been remixing all sorts of terrible songs. He no longer is the dj he used to be, he goes where the money is (understandable) but shows no sign of talent whatsoever. All the songs he remixes sound identical (and quite lame to be honest). Back to the Grammies, I think that Axwell & Dirty South deserved the grammy!
