Dancing Astronaut recently conducted a Facebook poll to better understand what our readers want to hear. Capturing 34.75% of the total votes, the EDM subgenre that came out on top in resounding fashion was Electro House. We hear you loud and clear, Astronauts, and would like to dedicate this post to the DA Facebook fans who participated in the poll. This kind of feedback is what we thrive on to better serve you.

While his classmates are busy studying for AP’s, IB’s, and SAT’s, 16-year old Madeon is in the studio producing some of the finest electro house remixes and originals by infusing almost every one of his tracks with that elusive combination of joy and innocence. For those who actually follow electro/electro house more closely, Madeon’s style reminds heavily of Sweden’s Mille, Australia’s Bag Raiders, and America’s own Passion Pit – artists most grown adults wouldn’t mind being compared to.

The unsigned prodigy casually describes himself as an “electro-pop-house-whatever producer from France,” but in reality the rising talent  has been making a definitive splash in the house scene, most recently garnering himself a coveted feature on Pete Tong’s Friday radio show. Because his discography features elements of French house, progressive house, and electro, Madeon is difficult to pigeonhole. If there were a bucket for “Good Music,” we’d probably just throw him there.

Deadmau5 – Raise Your Weapon (Madeon Remix):

To further put things in perspective, Madeon’s remix of the Deadmau5 hit “Raise Your Weapon” (3.5 million+ hits on YouTube) was released only a few days ago and already occupies two spots on Hype Machine’s “Most Popular” Top 10. This comes as no surprise once you hit the play button and witness Madeon’s incredibly complex production. The opening vocals skitter across lighter intro synths, but things really kick into high gear at the 1:02 mark when the primary electro elements jump in and take you to that happy place that is usually impossible to reach sober.
