We’ve got a healthy dose of Deadmau5 new5 for you this morning, so we hope you’re ready for a quick rundown. We told you about the mau5’s recent contest to redesign his iconic head gear a while back, but we can finally update you on the winner and share his cool design. Dubbed the ‘cheese head,’ the UK’s Lance Thackeray has offered up a take with cheese holes and mesh indents, fiber-optic whispers, and backlit eyes and mouth (see above). We can also tell you that Deadmau5’s DVD from his amazing Earl’s Court performance in the UK last December is finally available, and can be picked up in stores across North America. Finally, in case his upcoming “Meowington Hax” tour wasn’t previously scheduled to hit your major city, you might want to check again, as more dates have been announced — including supporting acts Tommy Lee and Zedd among others. The tour is set to kick off with a brand-spanking-new live production at Lollapalooza today in Chicago, before heading to many more cities across North America.
