Electric Zoo set times posted, Plastikman app available for download

Electric Zoo can be thought of as the Ultra Music Festival or Electric Daisy Carnival of NYC, and with just over two weeks till the Labor Day event, organizers have finally revealed the schedule. The three-day festival has four stages, so you’ll need some time to make a game plan, of course. There’s also a mobile site that’s perfect for your BlackBerry, iPhone, or Android so you don’t have to rely on your sure-to-be-hazy memory once you’re there.

We also thought we’d remind you of an opportunity at the festival that’s just too cool to pass up. Plastikman (that’s Richie Hawtin for those of you who don’t know) will be doing a completely live interactive performance on Friday at the Hilltop Arena. By downloading the SYNK iPhone app, attendees will be able to “contribute and interact by reorganizing word samples, view the venue from the Plastikman perspective, and see the realtime programming of the drum and percussive elements and effects.” On top of being able to say that you helped perform an Electric Zoo set, it’s a free download that you can grab right now ahead of time. Check out a video of the app in action after the break.
