Santos Party House, located in downtown Manhattan on Lafayette Street, is a two-level, 8,000 square foot dance club that boasts a sound system whose bass can literally knock the wind out of you. State of the art lighting and decor adorn the walls and ceilings, while raised platforms mark the VIP and table service areas. It has recently become host to Corona Light’s Electric Beach Party and is quickly garnering a lot of attention in the NYC club scene. We had the opportunity to catch Fareoh there last Saturday, and although the night started out slow it ended in a blur of bottle service and beautiful women.

Stumble home with us after the break.

When we arrived at 11:30PM, the club was essentially a ghost town. Small groups of people stood idly around swaying to the music being pumped through the sound system. Minute by minute the atmosphere inside the club began to change. By midnight, what was once a ghost town had reached critical mass — and when Fareoh took the decks the transformation was officially complete. Fareoh has seen recent success with his remixes of Wynter Gordon’s “Buy My Love” and Calvin Harris’s “Flashback,” and at the tender age of 19 even earned himself a spot performing at Electric Zoo this past September.

While many producers focus heavily on beat patterns and percussion, he spends his time developing intricate melodies with huge synth sounds and trance-like chord progressions. Surprisingly, he is also a remarkably good DJ who understands how to work a crowd —something that, in our opinion, has started to become an afterthought for many producers turned DJs.  Fully utilizing the club’s monstrous sound system, Fareoh played a unique blend of tech house, progressive and trance as beautiful girls danced behind him on the raised VIP sections overlooking the dancefloor.

To say we were impressed with both Fareoh and Santos Party House would be an understatement. His energetic set and the nearly perfect atmosphere were a match made in heaven. Santos may not have the same mystique as LAVO NYC or the sheer size and draw of Pacha (two clubs we’re all too familiar with), but it’s got character and a vibe that could easily propel it to the top of the New York club scene.
