Dirty South & Thomas Gold ft. Kate Elsworth – Alive (Philip Cue and Blinders Remixes) (Preview)

Just when you thought it was time to forget about “Alive” and fall in love with “Eyes Wide Open,” Dirty South and Thomas Gold’s newest collab, the prog-house dream team is unveiling two more remixes. The Blinders and Philip Cue versions of “Alive” won a Dirty South-sponsored remix contest, and will now be released on his Phazing Records January 11th.

Dirty South & Thomas Gold ft. Kate Elsworth – Alive (Blinders Remix)

The Blinders remix takes the gorgeous sliding guitar work of the original and places it front and center, only to bring in a heavy dose of big-room house after the drop. This remix doesn’t do anything so radically different from the original song, but rather enhances each of its elements for an overall grander effect.

It’s easy to see why Dirty South picked Philip Cue’s remix – a double-time drumline renews the track with a uptempo energy, and oversized, Avicii-esque piano notes make the perfect backdrop to Kate Elsworth’s vocals. We wouldn’t be surprised if Dirty South himself played this remix instead of the original.
