Fedde Le Grand & Nicky Romero – Freaky/ Slacking (Original Mixes)

Fedde Le Grand and Nicky Romero have released a gift to all their fans for the new year. Their “2012 Gift” includes two tracks – “Freaky” and “Slacking,” both of which are simple in structure and high energy. In order to obtain both of these visit either Nicky or Fedde’s facebook page (look on the left hand column for the tab “2012 Gift”). Let’s get into the nitty gritty of each free tune.

“Freaky” has vocals similar to Daft Punk’s “Technologic.” The distortion heavy bassline is made for the dancefloor and will do well in a club setting. The drumline in the background is heavy and hits you hard every time the drop occurs, look for this to be played by both Fedde and Nicky in the near future. This is Dancing Astronaut’s favorite track out of both offerings.

Fedde le Grand & Nicky Romero ft. MC Gee – Slacking (Original Mix)

MC Gee gets the crowd going with “Slacking,” his voice just emits over this powerful tune. “Freaky” may have been fast paced, but it sure as hell doesn’t hit as hard as the secondary track in the free giveaway. The build up sounds a bit like Tommy Trash, due to the decent amount of grunge that is incorporated. If you like hardstyle – look no farther than “Slacking.”
