Taking a break from touring has been great for Deadmau5, and it seems the time is being well-spent working hard in the studio — or hanging out in Swedish House Mafia’s. Deadmau5’s most recent releases have had ridiculous genres like “catstep” and “pigstep,” but today’s work-in-progress, “Closer,” is something the mau5 likes to call “StevenSpeilbergstep.” The song starts off with deep synths that sound like the Deadmau5 of yesteryear that slowly build to include a bass beat about halfway through. All these recent previews have us speculating about an upcoming album — we’ll be sure to let you know if we hear moar.
