Kaskade already gave us two versions of “Room For Happiness,” his collaboration with Skylar Grey, on his album Fire & Ice – the uplifting, big room-friendly “Fire” mix and the pared-down, emotional “Ice” mix. If neither of those was your style, or you just want more Kaskade/Skylar goodness, you’re in luck: today saw the release of five new remixes. The package includes the production talents of Gregori Klosman (whose remix was previewed by Kaskade himself), Feenixpawl, Pixl, Pixel Cheese, and Mysto & Pizzi. Kaskade ft. Skylar Grey – Room For Happiness (Gregori Klosman Remix)

French DJ/producer Gregori Klosman isn’t new to the EDM scene per se, but he’s been making a big splash in recent months. And it’s easy to see hear why: Klosman adds some urgency to “Room For Happiness” with a quick piano melody and some “Rattle”-like sax. As with anything Klosman, the production here is super detailed and multi-layered. We know why Kaskade loved this one.

The name Feenixpawl crept into EDM fans’ collective consciousness thanks to “In My Mind,” and this remix is not unlike the aforementioned progressive smash. Big piano notes and soaring synths drop into a driving beat that allows Skylar’s vocals to truly shine.

Pixl’s remix goes in a different direction than the prior two – it’s a little more minimal, a touch moodier. The bridge is almost entirely lifted from Kaskade’s “Fire” mix; unlike that version, however, it doesn’t drop into his uplifting final chorus, keeping things largely instrumental until the end. This remix could be considered the midpoint between Kaskade’s “Fire” and “Ice” versions.

The last Pixel Cheese remix we heard was an excellent take on Steve Aoki’s “Ladi Dadi,” but the Polish producer missed the mark slightly on this “Room For Happiness” remix. While the beat itself is well done – energetic and fast-paced with a hint of dubstep drum – the vocals feel tacked-on and a bit too soft to.

Kaskade ft. Skylar Grey – Room For Happiness (Mysto & Pizzi Remix)

Mysto & Pizzi’s signature electro-tinged sound is back on their “Room For Happiness” remix, but they toned it down just enough to compliment Skylar Grey’s vocals. A deep guitar line propels the track, and a screechy synth melody snakes over the chorus – it’s a little weird, but it works.
