Mat Zo – The Bipolar EP

Mat Zo has finally released his highly anticipated “The Bipolar EP” on Anjunabeats. While “Bipolar” may be the marquee track from this package, the others are more than adequate at cleansing your big room trance palette. Let’s get into the details of each of the four tracks below.

Mat Zo – Ring On It (Original Mix)

Mat Zo has an interesting way of blending various elements of trance with the sensitive progressive house that is very mainstream at the moment. We were pleasantly surprised about the drop, which features many bleeps, but not the kind that the Dutch artists feed off of. It is nice to see the coming together of multiple noises — only the most talented producers can pull this off.

Mat Zo – Its Yours (Original Mix)

You normally don’t associate trance with music that you would listen to at a lounge, but somehow Mat Zo hits the right balance. If you love deeper sounding basslines, “It’s Yours” may be your favorite out of the package. While this isn’t a dancefloor destroyer, it is a very nice filler track for your next set.

Mat Zo – Yoyo Ma (Original Mix)

“Yoyo Ma” incorporates robotic sounds, adrenaline, and an intense drumline. In the back of your mind you may be thinking “Daft Punk,” but at the 2:17 mark everything goes quiet and the emotional bassline kicks in. If you’ve been keeping tabs, Mat Zo has incorporated elements from all different genre’s of EDM and “Yoyo Ma” allows us to check nu-disco off the list.

Mat Zo – Bipolar (Original Mix)

Wasn’t “Bipolar” released months ago? Yes, it was actually featured on Anjunabeats Volume 9 in November of last year (available on iTunes). This is Dancing Astronaut‘s favorite song from the package, because it is pure bliss from start to finish.
