Ultra Music Festival 2012 day 1 live blog: photos, DJs, tracks, and more
Yesterday we tried out our very first liveblog at Robbie Rivera’s amazing Juicy Beach, and today we’re going to take on the biggest show of the week: Ultra. While cellphone service and especially data connections are notoriously terrible at huge events like Ultra, we’re going to do our best to bring you up-to-the-minute updates from Bayfront Park where everything is set to go down.
PS: Don’t forget to check out our No Sugar Added liveblog as well!
5:41: Okay, we’re officially inside and in the press tent where there’s WiFi. Afrojack is here doing interviews, and Tommy Trash is destroying the Main Stage. Unfortunately some holdups with photo release forms led to a late entry for us, meaning we didn’t get to cover Nicky Romero’s set. It’s cool though — we interviewed him yesterday.
5:43: Spoiler from Tommy Trash’s set: “One Last Ride” with “Mr. Brightside.” Yeah.
6:11: Martin Solveig is on the Main Stage and he just dropped Swedish House Mafia’s “Greyhound” — something tells us we’ll be hearing this track a lot.
6:29: There are charging stations all over Bayfront Park. This is one idea we can get behind.
7:05: Madeon is dropping his remix of “Raise Your Weapon.” He is killing it… In a sports jacket.
7:11: First Deadmau5 head spotted.
7:17: Benny Benassi playing “Cinema.” Just heard someone say “this is getting old.” …
7:31: Benny’s set just went very dubby. Bunch of tracks we haven’t heard before.
7:40: Benny is premiering his remix of Madonna’s “Girl Gone Wild” (title?). According to the man himself, “only for you Miami!”
