Calvin Harris and Ne-Yo – Let’s Go (Original Mix, Calvin Harris Remix, Quintino Bootleg)

Calvin Harris has teamed up with Ne-Yo for “Let’s Go,” a pop-sounding track that feels like a suitable followup to Calvin’s collaboration with Rihanna, “We Found Love.” It employs the same melodic style of the Rihanna track, but sounds fuller and darker, not to mention the new male vocal. It’s not quite a “club banger” on its own, but thankfully there’s already a Quitino bootleg (and Calvin Harris remix in the UK) to make it more club-ready.

Purchase: Extended Mix (Beatport), Radio Edit (iTunes)

Quintino has been an essential player of the ‘Jacked’ movement of late with his most recent release, “Circuits”, and the Tiesto-endorsed “We Gonna Rock.” Feeding off the momentum of these releases, he has produced a bootleg of Calvin Harris and Ne-Yo’s track, that he will surely take on the road with Afrojack this Summer. The track has drawn comparisons to Tommy Trash’s “Cascade” because the synths are eerily identical. That being said – the production is still impressive and puts a much needed spin on a radio geared track.

Satisfying Top 40 radio stations with the original, Calvin Harris continues to please his club audience by remixing his own production. The beat remains intact as the biggest difference is the absence of the vocal. Giving the remix some spice, he samples the high speed intro loop throughout the track, providing the consistent progression that the radio edit lacks. Even though it doesn’t sound that different, Calvin’s remix lends itself nicely to potential mashups with other acapellas.
