It’s known to pretty much every fairly intelligent person (I’m taking it you’re not then?) out there that any track up for streaming can be downloaded (illegally in this case). Just by uploading the full tracks onto their site, they are breaking copyright law. They need permission to justify that action. I buy some and I download some, but that’s not the point. The point here is that they portray a facade of them being all legal when they’re actually not.For the record, the writing Dancing Astronaut is hilarious – I love it. I just think you should practice what you preach and get your shit together as far as the knowledge part is concerned.

Anyhow, posting a full, unreleased track, which you obtained illegally (in that case from livingelectro.com), up for streaming is never okay in any way unless you get a permission to do so by the label, which you didn’t get for obvious reasons.
You’ve done it several times before. The one that comes to mind that you posted without even being officially previewed is the Third Party remix of “Otherside”.
I’m just giving you the facts here, and the best way for you to approach this is prove us wrong by stepping up your game. Not make bad excuses.

Wow, everyone’s reaction has been totally farcical and quite a joke to be honest, and to compound the problem, many are posting as anonymous, which simply makes their antics even more immature. Now I write for a website which makes no excuses for the fact that we post pirated music, so I’m definitely going to join the prevailing response in jumping on a proverbial high horse and criticising the DA writers, because that would be hypocritical and unnecessary. At the crux of the matter, DA provide readers (and artists) with a service in posting new songs to let readers know about them, whilst not providing download links so as to encourage people to support the artists. What the writers do personally should have no bearing on the premise of the website, which is, that it is a legitimate legal blog. If they make an error once in a while, who really cares, who doesn’t screw up every so often. The fundamental point here, is that by everyone swearing and attacking the writers, their morals in doing so, are far worse than any person who pirates music. What people should be doing is being understanding that they made one small error, and even thankful that such blogs as DA and BeatMyDay even exist in an industry largely dominated by pirated blogs, which as I said, I’m apart of, so I won’t even try and criticise those blogs, because I don’t believe in any case, that judging others is the preferable option. So how about everyone cease their childish behaviour and unnecessary criticism, and instead, gain a bit of perspective about what is truly immoral, that is, to attack others, and we’ll move on and continue enjoying DA’s input.

Now they updated the post saying that they “don’t support or promote illegal downloading”, while we already know they do by downloading illegally to then illegally upload the tracks to their site for streaming. Just so you, Dancing Astronaut, know, you are risking getting removed from Google or get sued by copyright holders.
Not to mention that it’s very disrespectful towards the hard-working producers/Djs.
You guys are aware that artist post full versions of their tracks on soundcloud once the songs are released, right? Go rip that off, and complain about copyright issues.

As far as I recall. I’ve been a member of this community for the longest time, and they DID put out the songs for download some time ago, and they DID receive notices from the labels. Switching to streaming got rid of that issue. I don’t see why others should bitching about it, when clearly, the labels are not. No other blog represent artists the way DA does.
So now you’re going to play the moral card? Didn’t you just say a few posts down “I download some and I buy some”. It’s fine you download pirated music, at least don’t “portray a legal fascade” when you clearly don’t care about the hard-working producers/Djs, so why talk on behalf of them when you’re clearly not the one to judge? I agree that this should get the Anthem status, it’s fucking Anthem+ lol, should invent a new rank solely for it. I however disagree with the statement about SHM and Avicii getting anthem status for all their songs, because that’s false.
