It was a crazy Tuesday in the world of music news, but we here at Dancing Astronaut don’t like to leave our readers hanging. That’s why we’re sharing the Best of the Rest — the stuff we didn’t get a chance to post earlier in the day, but think you should know about anyway. We’ve got a few new previews, some free material to download, and a few good articles from around the web. Follow along while we complete your daily dance music education with the Best of the Rest, for Tuesday July 10th, 2012.

MORE NEWS & MUSIC

1. Tiesto has added a bunch of new dates to his Club Life College Invasion tour — and he’s announced that Tommy Trash will be supporting along with previously announced Dada Life and Bingo Players. Go here for all the details.

2. Jonathan Bogart at The Atlantic wrote a great piece about how the progression of dance music is following some historic patterns — and he makes the argument that it could indeed be the new rock and roll.

3. Steve Aoki’s Wonderland album is getting the remix treatment today with a new album from Ultra Records and Dim Mak fittingly-titled Wonderland Remixed. The album features remixes from Laidback Luke, Dillon Francis, Third Party, Bassnectar, Tommy Trash, and more. Download it on iTunes here.

4. Filo & Peri have released a free bootleg pack with seven unique combinations. The track selections are refreshing and are a great addition to any iTunes library hurting for something different. Grab it here.

5. Above & Beyond have released the video for their track featuring Richard Bedford, “On My Way To Heaven.” The video channels Shakespeare, starring a well-known Shakesperean actor and a good bit of theatrics. Oh A&B…

6. Walden is out with a preview to his remix of the venerable “In My Mind.” The track changes up the drop completely, breathing new life into an awesome — albeit overplayed — masterpiece. No word on a release date yet.

7. Blende has released a free four-track download with some 80s disco-style edits. Definitely a solid change of pace for the summer.

8. Italian tech house master Stefano Noferini has released a two-track EP, featuring the groovy “Sometimes” and “You Make Me Feel.” Purchase the club rockers on Beatport courtesy of Toolroom Records.

9. Special Features has released a preview of his first original solo production, titled “You And Me.” The track will be made available for free download on his Facebook page Thursday.

10. Kastenholt and Dee are giving away their track “Massive Selecta” for free, and they’re previewing their new track “I’m In Love” today as well. The new track will be available on July 23rd, and you can grab “Massive Selecta” for free here.

That’s all we’ve got for today, folks.
