DA’s Best of the Rest: Tuesday, July 31st 2012

While yesterday was dominated by new tracks on an especially jam-packed Music Monday, today the news scene took over the DA homepage. For starters, a whole lot of dance music talent was added to the Made In America Festival lineup, MTV revealed a new “Electronic Dance Music Video” category for this year’s VMAs, and DJ Mag told the world that it has discovered fraudulent voting in the poll — and that it would be spilling the beans on offending DJs by the end of the week. That’s what we had the time to tell you; for the Best of the Rest, well, you know what to do…

1. Our Top 10 tracks of July are out! Check out who took the top spot this month.

2. Philadelphia’s Made In America festival has added a lot of dance music talent to its phase two lineup. Some of the names are Alesso, Nicky Romero, and Otto Knows, who join the already impressive lineup of Afrojack, Skrillex, Jay-Z, and… Pearl Jam?

3. DJ Mag has discovered fraudulent voting in the popular Top 100 DJs poll. The publication says that it will be “naming and shaming” offending DJs sometime later this week. Uh oh…

4. MTV has finally added an Electronic Dance Music Video category for the VMAs this year. Will the Duck Sauce crew take it home for their unforgettable video for “Big Bad Wolf”? You’ll have to tune in on September 6th to find out.

1. Italian techno maestro Stefano Noferini has released Part 1 of his Remix Me EP, featuring 6 groovy dance floor tunes.

2. Morgan Page continues to give away his bootlegs, this time versus Michael Calfan and Axwell, “Believe Resurrection.”

3. Zaken is giving away his Summer Bootleg Pack featuring mashups that have been supported on Tiesto’s Club Life and Thomas Gold’s Fanfare radioshows. Head here to download all 9 tracks for free.
