It’s refreshing to see an artist like Deadmau5 take a year off of touring to spend time in the studio. This year Joel has already given us “The Veldt” and thr
ough his frequent SoundCloud updates we can tell he is hard at work experimenting and crafting new tracks. His most recent project is a remix of Nine Inch Nails’ “Survivalism” in which Deadmau5 strips the original guitar melody but leaves Trent Reznor’s sorrow-filled vocals intact. Joel has also released an instrumental version and stated that he “could probably do a track along these lines and just do my own vocal. why not.” Which leads us to believe that we could see a track similar to this sometime in the future.
