In an experimental project from Assembly, developers used the Xbox Kinect camera to capture video of a dancer to produce some pretty miraculous results. The moves are then translated into a projection that controls a digital audio workstation like Ableton. The project works in real-time, with the dancer’s moves controlling which audio clips are cued and also triggering visual effects.

With the curiosity of what DJs are actually doing on stage increasing, it is refreshing to see some new technology that could become a game changer.
