Dutch tribal house duo Chocolate Puma team up with fellow countryman Gregor Salto on a bumping track that takes its cues from seminal 80s Chicago label Dance Mania. “Gimme Sum” employs a more measured approach than Puma’s usual percussive fare, only periodically punctuating the rib-rattling funk bass line that dominates the track. The track succeeds as a modern reinterpretation of a once hot sound; the tactical use of big room synths fit the song while reminding the listener that the year is 2012, not 1986.
