Boston launches America’s first EDM radio station (UPDATE: Boston’s First EDM Radio Station, Not America’s)

Clear Channel Media and Entertainment launched the first EDM radio station in America Boston, Evolution 101.7 The new radio station kicked off this week on Boston’s WHBA-FM with an hour-long show dedicated to city and hosted by BBC Radio 1’s Pete Tong.

Tong is set to be the official host of the new show on the station, which is a broadcast extension of the digital station “Evolution” on iHeartRadio. Programming on the station will include the daily two-hour show called “All Gone Pete Tong” which will feature Tong’ Essential New Tune of the Week, much like his “Essential Mixes” on BBC Radio 1. The station will also cycle tracks from Beatport’s Top 100 Chart, have on-air interviews, and guest-hosted mixes. Catch Tong’s show Monday through Friday from 7 – 9PM EST and check out the impressive lineup of other radio shows set to be hosted by the likes of Diplo, Wolfgang Gartner, Fatboy Slim, Eats Everything and Dillon Francis to name a few.

Correction: This radio station is the first EDM radio station in Boston not in America.
