Coachella drops heavy hint of Rolling Stones headline

In a not-so-cryptic move, Coachella organizers posted a photo of a large round (or rolling?) stone today on the event’s Facebook page, seemingly confirming the rumors that the legendary Rolling Stones will be headlining the Indio, CA festival this April. As Rolling Stone tells us, if the Stones do perform at Coachella it will be their first US festival appearance since Altamont way back in 1969.

Mick Jagger and crew have already been gearing up for potential 2013 dates with a few major shows celebrating the group’s 50th anniversary in 2012. We’re definitely expecting more — Keith Richards explained to Rolling Stone “it would be dopey to bring things up to this level and say, ‘Well, that’s that, 50 years, bye-bye.” The full lineup will be officially announced towards the end of this month.

With rumors of The Rolling Stones all but confirmed maybe this means that Daft Punk performing isn’t as far-fetched as we originally thought.
