Breaking: Daft Punk confirms official move to Columbia and new website, causing immediate crash

Early this morning Daft Punk changed their Facebook profile picture and cover photo to what could possibly be their new album’s artwork. The picture doesn’t say much besides confirming the album will be released via Columbia Records, which is owned by Sony Music Entertainment. The update caused a flurry of activity on the page, which hasn’t been updated since March of 2012.

This will be Thomas and Guy’s first album since 2005’s EMI Records release Human After All and will feature game changing forces within the entertainment industry. We first caught wind of the new album via French publication Le Parisien, and are more than happy to have the rumors materialize.

The French duo also posted a link to their updated website, causing it to crash within seconds. Once inside, it only displays the same picture. What could this mean? A tour? An album release date? It’s typical Daft Punk sending us cryptic messages we cannot untangle. We will continue hitting that refresh button one more time and update this post as information becomes known.
