Breaking: Ahead of Weekend 1 festivities, Ultra screen collapses [UPDATED]
Less than 24 hours before the gates to the 15th annual Ultra Music Festival are set to open, a jumbotron screen collapsed and injured four people. The collapse occurred right before 8 p.m. this evening and Miami Fire Rescue crews were on the scene. Two male set up crew members were seriously injured, a third crew member was also injured and is in stable condition. A fourth crew member was treated on the scene. The first weekend is scheduled to occur as planned as of right now.
Statement from Ultra Music Festival:
Today (Thursday, March 14) as preparations were being made for this weekend’s Ultra Music Festival, a section of an LED screen fell and injured two workers. Fire Rescue was on site so there was a rapid response. Festival organizers are working with, and supporting, authorities as they investigate the details behind the accident.
