Jonny White from Art Department’s Miami Music Week party picks

You’ve seen our underground party picks for Miami Music Week, but now Jonny White of Art Department notoriety is giving his out on a silver platter. Whether you’re an underground vet or a new convert like myself, Jonny’s picks should serve as a solid map to navigating the deep and tech house scenes during MMW. Check them out below.

DJ Sneak’s I’m a House Gangster
March 20th | Chalk | 8PM – 5AM | Purchase Tickets
Lineup: DJ Sneak b2b Doc Martin, The Martinez Brothers b2b with special guest, Dan Ghenacia b2b Shonky, Hector Moralez b2b Chris Carrier, H-Foundation, Tripmastaz, Paolo Rocco, Nitin

Why? “Besides being a close friend, Sneak has been representing Toronto and No.19 for quite some time and the man is a legend. His shows at WMC have been event staples for as long as I’ve been attending. The line up this year is hot and includes my label partner Nitin.”

Flying Circus Miami, 6th Anniversary
March 20 | Villa 221 | 12PM-5AM | Purchase Tickets
Lineup: M.A.N.F.L.Y. (M.A.N.D.Y. vs Audiofly – Miami Exclusive), Magda, Azari & III, Benoit & Sergio, tINI, Martin Buttrich, Bill Patrick vs Maayan Nidam, Shaun Reeves, Lee Curtiss, Blond:Ish, Just Be, Clockwork, Tone of Arc, My Favorite Robot, Inxec Avatism, Ultrasone, Special Case, Den Ishu

Why? “This is another proven sure shot at WMC. The bill for this event looks like a festival in itself each year. It’s early in the week and usually serves as a first meeting spot for artists and friends. I did the show two years ago and had a great time. It will be nice to see Tone Of Arc’s debut at Flying Circus during the day.”

Circoloco
March 21 | Surfcomber | 11AM-11PM | Purchase Tickets
Lineup: Seth Troxler, Maceo Plex, Davide Squillace, Matthias Tanzamann, Tania Vulcano, Ellen Allien, Dyed Soundorom, Dan Ghenacia, Tale of Us, The Martinez Brothers, Clive Henry

Why? “Circoloco’s got one of, if not the strongest brand out right now. They’re really taking DC10 on the road with this lineup and it reads like a who’s who of the underground. As DC10 residents we would have loved to have been on this lineup. I should mention that Art Department isn’t included only because of a contractual obligation that limits our number of shows this week.”

No.19 presents The Social Experiment
March 22 | Cafeina Terrace | 10PM-5AM | Purchase Tickets
Lineup: Art Department, DJ Sneak, Deniz Kurtel, Juan Maclean, Tone Of Arc, Shaun Reeves, My Favorite Robot, Nitin, Droog, Clayton Steele, Jakkin Rabbit

Why? “This is our main event! After just a couple of years, The Social Experiment has fortunately become a highly sought out event. It’s a really great opportunity for our newer artists to shine alongside a stacked lineup up of heavyweights. I love doing the festival editions because we usually include some very special guests and a surprise or two – this one will be no exception.”

Crosstown Rebels Get Lost Miami
March 23 | Ice Palace West | Early Saturday morning to late Saturday night | Purchase Tickets
Lineup: Alex Arnout, Bill Patrick, Burnski, Carl Craig, Clive Henry, Craig Richards, Cassy, Damian Lazarus, DJ Three, Droog, Eats Everything, Eduardo Castillo, Francesca Lombardo, Fur Coat, Guti & Fosky, Heidi, Infinity Ink, jozif, Just Be (Bushwacka), Lee Curtiss, Maayan Nidam, Mark Jenkyns, Richy Ahmed, Robert James, Roska, Russ Yallop, Shaun Reeves, Skream, DJ Sneak, Subb-an, Tiga, tINI + Very Special Guests

Why? “I’ve lost countless hours of my life to the dance floor at Crosstown Rebel events in Miami over the years. I heard many of my favorite artists for the first time here and it was also where Art Department debuted in 2009 at the Electric Pickle, our home in Miami. The event is moving to a new venue this year due to its growth but, as always, it’s sure to be a beautiful mess.”
