Axwell brings the party back to Stockholm, promise of new material adds to post-SHM mania
Having recently put to bed one of European Dance music’s most dominant acts to date, sun kissed anthem monger Axwell returns to the motherland alongside Where’s The Party by Carlsberg to headline Stockholm’s iconic Swedish Maritime Museum. Donning a 9,000 capacity tent at the river-set museum, the ever eclectic tune smith and renowned European house veteran spoke of the pride he felt in following-up last year’s high-profile appearance at Friends Arena as Swedish House Mafia.
”I am really happy to announce my return to Stockholm,” said Axwell. “After Friends Arena I felt the next event I played when I returned to Sweden as a solo artist had to be something that really went next level and demonstrated much of what I have learned makes a great show while I have been on the road all over the world.”
But with the chart-topping project put to bed, Ax’s solo career looks to be back in full throttle for 2013. Having confirmed that new material will emerge in May and confirmed further spots at Sweden’s Summerburst, the impending summer season will also call upon the Axtone head honcho to return to Ibiza, the island to which so many of his early hits played soundtrack to. Renowned for his versatile sets and ability to fluidly cross-genres at the blink of an eye, we may still be waiting on a sack-full of IDs and a long-overdue album, but the road ahead looks certain to see the beloved producer take back the drivers seat with considerable force.
