Coachella receives clearance to hold festival through 2030
Six months ago Coachella‘s future seemed uncertain after monetary disputes regarding the per ticket royalty began with its host city of Indio, California . Despite the issues, Indio has granted approval of Goldenvoice’s proposal to expand throughout 2030. The deal included a royalty of $5.01 for every ticket sold, a significant increase from the previous $2.33.
The approval for expansion also provides Goldenvoice with the ability to host two concerts in the fall, providing the opportunity for another 174,000 visitors to the desert town. An agreement with Indio was destined for success from the start as Goldenvoice’s presence is a boon on the desert town’s economy. Last year the dual Coachellas grossed more than $47 million, making it the highest grossing festival of all time.
