Guy Gerber’s new Pacha Ibiza residency will be called ‘Wisdom of the Glove’
As the lastest announcement in this week’s string of Balearic-themed news, Pacha Ibiza and Guy Gerber have announced the details of the residency hinted at in the now quite contentious New York Times article about internal strategy shifts at Pacha this summer. If Pacha lost stars like Erick Morillo, Defected, and Luciano to Cipriani’s new Bomba Ibiza, they’ve gained Guy Gerber. His “Wisdom of the Glove” residency will include magicians, shadow puppeteers, and fortune telling machine and the entire club will “pay sacrifice to a centrifugal glove-shaped force in the shape of a £150,000 single glove.”
Both Gerber and Pacha seem to be riding the recent surging underground dance music wave in order to come up with a club experience that is truly out there. So far, it’s confirmed that Four Tet, Shaun Reeves, Cajmere, Benoit & Sergio, dOP, and Deniz Kurtel will be joining the Israeli DJ for various appearances through the summer season. Just like Bomba Ibiza, Gerber’s residency will begin on May 22nd, right in time for the International Music Summit.
