James Blake reveals more material from sophomore LP, ventures into hip hop

We’ve heard “Retrograde,” “Voyeur,” and “Digital Lion” off James Blake’s forthcoming new album Overgrown (set to release on April 9th), but the two most recent tracks the producer is previewing for his fans dive a little more deeply into the world of hip hop. “Take A Fall For Me” features Wu-Tang Clan frontman RZA and “Every Day I Ran” samples Big Boi’s “Royal Flush” — a clear departure from other aspects of the album we’ve heard so far. RZA clearly takes the reigns on “Take A Fall For Me,” delivering a powerful series of free association verses with Blake’s emotional production as the backdrop. Listen to it above, and check out “Every Day I Ran” on his Tumblr.
