Patrick Topping delivers second release on Jamie Jones’s HOTTRAX imprint with ‘Walk On’ EP
The second release off Jamie Jones’ newly founded HOTTRAX imprint comes from UK newcomer Patrick Topping. The focus of the label (as proclaimed by Jamie) is to dive into the darker and deeper realms of underground house and techno while maintaining a proper dance floor aesthetic. This release features two well-rounded tracks that define the effort of the label.
The title track on the EP, “Walk On,” features a wobbly bassline over punchy and crisp beat work. “What Do You Mean” revolves around soaring synths with a dark bassline in the rear — setting up both tracks to work wonders on the dance floor. Topping is already garnering support from the likes of Pete Tong and Mark Knight, and has a forthcoming remix slated to release on Hot Creations.
