Autoerotique finally capitalizes on an inevitable play-on-words with the debut of “Asphyxiation.” Released today on Dim Mak, Autoerotique’s latest embodies the heavy hitting electro-noise he’s most well known for, encapsulating a gritty attitude that has recently become less prevalent in the dance music landscape. Visceral and unrelenting, the track builds and crashes in a torrent of shrill pad work and grime-covered synths. Thanks to the amphetamine-laced production style and highly-NSFW music video, “Asphyxiation” does just what its name suggests – leaves you gasping for air.
