Butch makes exciting debut on Loco Dice’s Desolat with ‘FTS’

In a relatively short period of time, Butch has become one of the most highly regarded in the worlds of both techno and house, and his most recent EP FTS, is only further proof. The EP, out on Loco Dice and Martin Buttrich’s Desolat label this week, is as he says a “tribute” to former Italian prime minister Silvio Berlusconi and even though he himself is German, takes a political angle not often reserved for dance music productions. 

The EP is dominated by a big drum sound, but also samples unnamed Italian movies, documentaries, and even a steam whistle (which he admits came from his kitchen). Unlike many other producers, Butch even posted his production notes for every track on his Facebook page post-release, providing an interest snapshot for aspiring producers and dedicated fans:
