Like a hypnopaedic slogan, Fatboy Slim and Riva Starr’s newest collaboration could easily become the mantra of a semi-conscious, post-2:00am generation. With its hilariously spontaneous vocal track and chirping acid synths, “Eat, Sleep, Rave, Repeat” is as psychotropic as its subject matter implies. Norman took the time to explain the origin of the absurd sample on his SoundCloud:

Me and stef (riva starr) were out vinyl shopping in williamsburg, brooklyn earlier this year when we met this dude ranting in the street about some 3 day bender he had been on (and possibly still was….) we hooked him into our serato and chopped him up into a tune. I just wish we’d caught his full name…….

Factual or not, the anecdote provides a fitting (and hilarious) context for the well-wrought acid house production. Fatboy Slim and Riva Starr may have just created a dance music mythos with “Eat, Sleep, Rave, Repeat.”
