Native Instruments announced their professional mixer line in the fall of 2012 when they unveiled the Kontrol Z2. The original, multifaceted mixer has now been scaled down to a more mobile and affordable setup, dubbed the Z1. The Z1 is designed to seamlessly integrate with Native Instruments’ Traktor DJ App for iPhones and iPads, giving external control to the emerging iOS DJ technology in the way of 3-band EQ, dedicated filters, and headphone cueing. The addition of a built-in 24-bit soundcard will appease many NI fans, allowing the Z1 to stand up in any club environment.
