Armand Van Helden – You Don’t Know Me (Michael Woods Remix)
Of all the producers to turn their hands to the resurrection of Armand Van Helden’s heyday studio exploits, Michael Woods was bound to be a promising candidate. With a strong track record for original productions and remixes already behind him, the British heavyweight follows-up “Clanga” for Diffused Music with an audacious attempt to bring “You Don’t Know Me” to a new generation of club-savvy ears. Treading far more powerfully than that of his quirky French peer Martin Solveig, Wood’s injects firm beats and sparing lead work into the equation for a worthy peak time remodel of the irreplaceable 90’s anthem. Duane Harden’s topline sits comfortably into the equation and when all is said and done, less proves more for the latest addition to Woods studio get-up. Some will argue what isn’t broken shouldn’t be fixed, but the history books look respectfully acknowledged in the hands of Michael Woods where this remix is concerned.
