Despite less than stunning initial reactions when Avicii debuted his new album at Ultra Music Festival in Miami, the young Swede has once again delivered a instant chart-topping success. “Wake Me Up,” the lead single off of Avicii’s forthcoming album True, featuring Michael Einziger and Aloe Blacc, scaled the UK charts in nearly record time, achieving number 1 status in under two hours. With the release of his full length album scheduled for this September, “Wake Me Up’s” cult-like success proves that producers can, and should, be taking greater risks with their future releases.
