DA’s Sunday Morning Medicine

I’m particularly partial to this week’s edition of Sunday Morning Medicine because it features OliverDisclosureand Eric Prydz: three of my favorite acts right now. Topping that off, we’ve got some French Express sweetness courtesy of Isaach Tichauer and a hot deep house edit from Pleasurekraft. It’s safe to say it’s a good week!

After featuring Oliver’s newest work last week, I couldn’t resist revisiting their beautiful Mechanical EP for this week’s edition. While the whole EP is literally golden, the mellow 80’s vibes of “Mechanical” seem like the most fitting choice for an early morning revival.

While Disclosure’s housier outputs dominate the track listing of Settle, I find myself irresistibly drawn to their more conceptual offerings. “Second Chance” is a wonderful instance of Disclosure’s more imaginative future garage/bass abilities.

It’s been too long since SMM played host to French Express. Isaach Tichauer’s entire Take Over You EP is awesome, but the deep house title track remains my favorite.

Pleasurekraft’s edit of Bonton’s remix of Josh Butler’s “Got a Feeling” (quite a title, eh?) has been devouring the Beatport charts, and for good reason. The re-worked, resampled deep house tune is just so damn catchy!

Finally, we’ve got “Leja” off of Eric Prydz’s renowned Pryda album. I love this track because it recalls the atmospheric synths of Boards of Canada. It’s a true display of Prydz’s softer, more emotional tendencies and a delightful tribute to his daughter.
