Mike Mago – The Show (Radio Edit) [Preview]

As one of the Netherlands’ most outspoken tastemakers of late, Mike Mago has risen from strength-to-strength since turning his focus from BMKLTSCH RCRDS. Last found remixing British grime star Wretch 32 , the Dutch trailblazer arms Ministry of Sound with a re-release of one his most accomplished solo feats to date (originally out on DFA Records). Sitting somewhere between the warm melodic guise of Chicago house and the deep soundscape now dominating the European underground, “The Show” flares immediately with warm and soulful energy. A vocal set piece with as much radio potential as it holds immediate toe-tapping stamina, there has not been a summer anthem of this caliber to emerge from Europe for a long time — just ask Pete Tong and the arsenal of radio DJs already singing its praises. For all the one dimensional sounds to dominate , this show stopping single is a wake-up call to those still priming that meticulous middle-ground between mainstream and underground favorites. Let the message ring clear: Mike Mago might well be the next shining exemplar of European house music.
