Sick Individuals join the ranks with two-track EP for X
Off the heels of a high-profile remix stint for Rihanna and David Guetta, Holland-based duo Sick Individuals are the next act to bless Steve Angello’s recently formed X imprint. Previously found remixing Size label newcomers Qulinez, their two-track offering takes a notably untamed approach to that of their usual heavyset studio artillery. Where “Drum Machine” strips back the canvas to overbearing grooves and minimalistic portion of lead and sample work, “Chase” offers a more mechanical and melodically refined take on the sound of electro house. The culmination of both signals not only an unexpected shade of maturity from the young duo and their rapidly developing sound, but yet another promising twist in the movements of Angello’s new imprint.
