Few Dutch house contenders have struck such chords of diversity as that of inaugural Boom! Ibiza residents Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano. Last found channeling their grittier sensibilities through Steve Angello’s X imprint alongside Chocolate Puma, the follow-up to “Firefaces” alongside Jaz Von D for Spinnin Records finds them straddling the two dimensions that have made them one of Europe’s more stimulating club assets of late. A bouncy electro outing bridged with layers of rigid synth work, “Ultronic” is not your everyday drop-fest, opting for a welcoming un-groomed take on the club sound. Say what you will about modern times, but this unpretentious single is surefire proof that Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano have no intention of compromising their quality streak for 2013.
