Tiësto takes shots with Giorgio Moroder, says Daft Punk’s latest doesn’t deliver on the hype

On Friday night of EDC at the brand new Hakkasan Las Vegas nightclub, Tiësto spent a portion of his set accompanied by the legendary Giorgio Moroder who shared a shot with the house music icon. They’re both legends in their own right, and Tiësto shared details about his evening with Huffington Post;

“He’s one of my youth heroes…He’s such a talented producer and to meet him, yeah, it’s one of those things, like, so cool. He comes to my show and he stayed the whole set actually; I played for three hours and he was there for three hours. He’s in his seventies and still rocking strong. We did shots together and it was fun to hang out together. I was honored that he came actually.”

He went on to discuss Daft Punk’s latest album and his opinion regarding its impressive success, stating that on Random Access Memories “the music doesn’t deliver on the hype so much” but instead asserts that “Because it’s Daft Punk and we want to believe the hype; we are cool people so we have to think this is cool.”

Although nothing is certain, Moroder and Tiësto did exchange numbers and the Musical Freedom label head wasn’t shy about the possibility of a collaboration; “he did a collaboration with Daft Punk, so why not with me?”
