Skrillex lands on Rollings Stone’s ranking of the ’50 Greatest Live Acts Right Now’
Rolling Stone refers to them as “the crowd-pleasing, club-wrecking, festival-killing road rulers.” Artists such as The Rolling Stones, Prince, and Jay-Z occupy the top ten and legends such as U2, Paul McCartney, and Metallica round out the top twenty. It’s the ranking of the 50 Greatest Live Acts Right Now, occupied from start to finish by immortal musicians. Amongst the likes of the Red Hot Chili Peppers and Pearl Jam, Skrillex finds himself slotted at number 42 as the only EDM representative, beating out even Lady Gaga.
In addition to the honorable ranking, Skrillex received further praise from Metallica’s Lars Ulrich, who had this to say about the dubstep poster boy:
“When I saw him it was 30,000 kids going fucking apeshit to this orgasm of lights and sound and strobes. I’ve never seen anything so completely over-the-top. It felt like it was on a spaceship.”
