London-based duo Raf Daddy and YoungTEE have respectively proven invaluable to the Southern Fried Records roster. More recently, they have banded together as The Joy Boys, brining their form house stylings together with considerable force for the late summer-gold rush. As given a nod of approval through Annie Mac’s Free Music Monday segment, the track follows-on from TEE’s own Get Deeper EP with a far more bouncy complexion. A clash of blazing trumpet lines and muffled brass stabs, “The Wake” nods to that Latin tinted sound that once dominated the White Isle and beyond, asserting its ongoing buoyancy in the right hands for the remaining summer clubbing season.
