DA’s Sunday Morning Medicine

Sunday Morning Medicine is a feature from Dancing Astronaut dedicated to the mellower side of electronic music. We bring you our favorite therapeutic selections — old and new — in an attempt to alleviate the agonizing effects of a long weekend of partying.

This week features standout Austrian producers Parov Stelar and Klangakarussel alongside deep house producers Teenage Mutants and Isaac Tichauer. Rounding out the selection is a funky offering from Futurewife.

1. Parov Stelar is the master of electro swing. “La Calatrava” is the opening track from Parov Stelar Trio’s 2013 album Invisible Girl, and it’s a thing of beauty.

2. Klangakarussell became a sensation after “Sonnentanz.” Their remix of Max Maine’s “Sunday” has the same progressive house charm.

3. Teenage Mutants’ remix of “Sweet Melody” is a phenomenal early-morning house track. Silky snares and hi hats with smooth melody and vocals — does it get much better?

4. French Express is a regular on Sunday Morning Medicine, and Isaac Tichauer is one the label’s most promising talents. “I Like It Raw” has all the natural and Earthy percussion which we’ve come to love from the house and deep house label.

5. Bringing down the tempo, Futurewife’s remix of Le Youth’s “C O O L” has a funky, lo-fi, midtempo appeal.
