After bursting eardrums and charts with an electro-fied love letter to NYC, Firebeatz and Schella have again joined forces on a hook-laden hit. For their latest Spinnin release “Wicked,” the Dutch threesome turned a plucky bassline into a pounding tonal takeover using just vocal sample-laden build as a transition. The jacked up juxtaposition places the tune somewhere between progressive and electro, and though miles away from “Dear New York” the tune’s Firebeatz funk is only magnified when foiled against Schella’s synth work. Out now on Beatport, it’s up to you to decide if “Wicked” is naughty or nice.
