John Digweed and Nick Muir unveil three-part ‘Versus’ compilation
Under the guise of their Bedrock moniker, John Digweed and Nick Muir have made numerous landmarks both live and recorded. For the final quarter of 2013, however, their sights are set on ventures new, unveiling a new three-part collaborative compilation entitled “Versus.” With Digweed taking the reigns of disc one, underground flavours from across the musical spectrum are liberally lapped up and manipulated, scaling the talents of Henry Saiz, Pig & Dan and Japanese Popstars to name but a few. With disc two offering the whole lot unmixed, disc three is where the duo really celebrate the ongoing stamina of their creative partnership. Between eight brand new tracks from the daring duo and a stint of aural mixology, “Versus” forms a versatile insight into the complex composure and meaningful programming that have carried these respective names in such high esteem throughout the past decade. With more heads turning to the underground sound scope than ever before, these two luminary influencers are on hand to show that for all the overcrowded space, Bedrock Records is still tending to some of the most innovative property in modern electronic music.
