When a live electronic act meets an Italian/German Brazilian Girl, “Love Letters” happen. At least in Big Gigantic’s case. The Colorado twosome recently teamed up with the Brazilian Girls’ Sabina Sciubba on the new track, creating a new sound in the process. An electronica beat holds down Sciubba’s warble while Dominic’s sax makes a few cameos and Jeremy handles the drum kit. At once less expansive but more technical than past Big G hits, the result is a bit Disclosure, a bit Dresden Dolls and a bit of a departure for fans of Boulder bass. The tune has no release date as of yet, but with their October Sky High Tour ready to take off, only crowd response will tell if the audience shares the love.
