CLMD – Fader (Original Mix) [Preview]
With a debut remix for Axtone, a prompt relocation to New York and tour duties alongside Calvin Harris in tow, CLMD have emerged as two of Norway’s hottest exports of standard-setting stamina. At the turning of 2013, the duo are ready to drop a debut offering for Armada-offshoot Trice Recordings, further strengthening their grasp on the melodically refined walks of modern dance music. For the most part, forthcoming tune “Fader” proves one part progressive and one part nostalgic in the wake of their otherwise diverse studio output. Ascending through a walk of uplifting leads and subtle instrumental builds, the track favors subtle drops to the avail of an 80s-flavored A-side that still sounds completely relevant to modern club land. For an act whose discography has often leaned to commercial crossovers, “Fader” acts as a warning shot to those who assume we have seen it all from this finely tuned Norwegian outfit: Carl Louis & Martin Danielle, it seems, are just warming up.
