1. IZM – We Get Down
Rising Los Angeles talent IZM defies classification on a smashing hip-hop tinged tune that showcases the producer’s fine ear for rollicking rhythms and artful sample interplay.
2. John Pierson – The Bridge
Boston’s John Pierson takes us back to a time when progressive house was characterized by thoughtful melodic and harmonic evolution rather than predictable builds and breaks on this well-crafted throwback track.
3. Eric Lam – Scream
Philadelphia-based producer Eric Lam’s foreboding melodic lead and crisp and clean production style stood out on this dynamic big room number.
5. Skizye – Entropy
20-year-old North Carolina producer Skizye offers up his take on melodic dubstep with a varied track that features plucky chords prior to a stuttered multi-tone drop in the archetype of Zomboy.
5. Huminal – Prophecies
Dutch duo Huminal curate a patiently evolving ambient techno soundscape on “Prophecies,” a mellow track that boasts careful attention to atmospheric sound design.
